What is it?
Sports massage is designed to assist in correcting problems and imbalances in soft tissue that are caused from repetitive and strenuous physical activity and trauma. The application of sports massage, prior to and after exercise, may enhance performance, aid recovery and prevent injury.
Who is it for?
Anyone and everyone! Whether you are a seasoned competitor looking to improve your performance and achieve PB, new to sports and want to relax your aching muscles, are returning from an injury and keen to get going again or simply want to prevent injury following gentle jogs, or if you have a desk job and feel aches and pains a sports massage could benefit you.
K- Taping
What is it?
It’s a thin, flexible tape that is meant to relieve pain, reduce swelling and inflammation, and provide support to joints and muscles.
Who is it for?
K-tape was originally developed as a way to enhance athletic performance; But literature shows you don’t have to be an elite athlete to enjoy its benefits.
It is most often used for knee/ hand osteoarthritis, but can be used for any joint of those body.
Pregnancy Massage
What is it?
A prenatal massage is a full body massage performed by a certified prenatal massage therapist that is similar to a Swedish massage(like what you might experience at a spa) except for a few modifications with body positioning that can ensure the safety and comfort for both mother and baby. It can help relieve: insomnia, joint pain, neck and back pain, leg cramping, sciatica, relieving anxiety, swelling in hands and feet and improve general comfort.
Who is it for?
Anyone who is pregnant and past their first trimester. You can tailor the experience to yourself; Speaking to your massage therapist throughout will ensure pressure is perfect for you throughout.
You can’t have a pregnancy massage if you have any of the following: Blood thinners, DVT, uncontrolled hypertension, burns, pre-eclampsia, GDM, bleeding disorders or osteoporosis.
Dry Needling
What is it?
Dry needling is a treatment that healthcare providers use for pain and movement issues associated with myofascial trigger points. With this technique, a provider inserts thin needles into or near your trigger points. The needles stimulate your muscles, which causes them to contract or twitch. This helps relieve pain and improve your range of motion.
Who is it for?
Dry needling is suitable for anyone who has a myofascial trigger points.
You can’t have dry needling if you have any of the following: needle phobia, on anticoagulants, vascular disease, pacemaker, joint replacement or in the first trimester of pregnancy.
